Our Story
Why We Built Play Based Wellness
Anna & Jordan
Play Based Wellness was created for one purpose: to bring the focus of ABA therapy back to children and families. Before PBW existed, Anna spent years working in corporate and private equity owned ABA organizations. During that time, she witnessed decisions being made by people who were not clinicians and who did not understand early childhood development, autism, or the ethical responsibilities of high quality therapy.
She saw clinics that looked beautiful on the outside but did not have enough toys, materials, or sensory supports. She saw children spending hours in environments that were not developmentally appropriate. She saw programming that did not prepare children for real life, schools, and community settings. And she saw families struggling to understand why the quality of care did not match what had been promised.
These experiences were the reason PBW was born. After years of watching Anna come home overwhelmed by the disconnect between what children needed and what corporate systems prioritized, Jordan encouraged her to build the kind of practice she wished existed. As an attorney specializing in compliance and healthcare operations, he offered the operational support needed to do it the right way. Anna brought the clinical vision. Together, they created a practice centered on transparency, ethics, and evidence based care.
At PBW, every major decision is made by clinicians, not investors. We do not answer to private equity groups, profit targets, or anonymous boards. We answer to the children we serve and the families who trust us.
Clinician owned and clinician led care matters because the people making decisions understand developmental science, the Early Start Denver Model, naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions, and the day to day needs of early learners. It matters because clinical integrity is protected when ownership understands exactly what ethical, high quality ABA should look like. It matters because families deserve a team whose first priority is child progress, not financial spreadsheets.
Transparency is one of our core values. We openly share who owns PBW, who leads PBW, and who provides care. You will always know the faces, the credentials, and the hearts behind this practice. There are no hidden investors and no unknown ownership groups. We believe families deserve clarity, not confusion.
PBW began with Anna seeing a handful of families in their homes with a simple goal: provide the kind of therapy she would want for her own child. Today that mission is unchanged. We build clinics filled with appropriate toys, natural play spaces, and environments that mirror the settings children actually live and grow in. We design programs that emphasize real world independence. We staff small, tight knit teams who know every child by name.
At Play Based Wellness, we created a place where clinical integrity guides every part of the practice. A place where families are partners. A place where children are seen, understood, and supported with care that is grounded in science, meaningful connection, and ethical responsibility.
This is why PBW exists. This is why we stay clinician owned. And this is why families choose us.
