Meet the Operational Team

At Play Based Wellness, our operational leadership team is the foundation that keeps therapy running smoothly for families and staff. This team manages the essential behind-the-scenes systems that support high-quality clinical care. Families experience clear communication, organized transitions, and reliable processes because each operational role is intentionally designed.

Our insurance specialist guides families through the entire insurance process from start to finish, making what is often a stressful step feel simple and supported. Our legal and compliance advisor ensures that the clinic meets the highest ethical and regulatory standards at all times. Our office manager oversees scheduling, communication, and day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring families always feel informed and connected.

Operational leadership exists to make sure the clinical team can focus on meaningful therapy, families feel reassured, and every detail behind the scenes supports a positive experience for the children we serve.

Our Operational Leadership

Jordan Hix, JD

Legal and Compliance Advisor

Hi everyone. I am Jordan, and I support Play Based Wellness by overseeing the legal and compliance side of the clinic. My role is to make sure our policies, procedures, and day to day systems stay aligned with state requirements, ethical standards, and the high level of care our families deserve. I work closely with leadership to create structures that protect our staff, our clients, and the integrity of the work happening here every day.

My background is in legal operations and compliance, and I have always been passionate about helping mission driven organizations run smoothly behind the scenes. I enjoy taking complex rules and turning them into clear, simple processes so our clinicians can stay focused on providing meaningful, effective therapy for children.

Outside of work, I like staying active, cooking at home, golfing, and playing pickleball whenever I can. I am known for being extremely punctual, and yes, I still have never been late to a meeting. It is not a challenge, but it has become a fun fact.

I am grateful to support the PBW team and to help create an environment where families feel safe, informed, and cared for from the moment they begin services with us.

Keyla Gallardo, Office Manager

Hi, I’m Keyla. I have been in the ABA field for more than ten years. Five of those years were spent hands on as a behavior technician and trainer, and the last five have focused on administrative operations. I have worked with children of all ages and I truly love supporting kids, families, and the team behind the scenes.

In my role as Office Manager at PBW, I get to blend my passion for organization with my heart for people. I care deeply about creating smooth systems, solving problems before they become barriers, and making sure everything on the administrative side runs with consistency and care. I believe that when operations are strong, clinicians can focus fully on what matters most: helping children learn and grow.

My goal is to create an environment where the clinical and administrative teams work together seamlessly. When the foundation of a clinic is steady, the entire community can thrive.

Fun Fact: Before ABA, I was into bodybuilding. I guess I have always liked strong foundations in more ways than one.

Shaiell Kennard, Insurance Specialist

Hi, I’m Renee. I joined PBW after spending years working in medical insurance, billing, and coding within large healthcare groups, including a busy multisite OBGYN practice. My background includes verifying benefits, coordinating with major insurance carriers, processing and following up on claims, and supporting providers across high-volume medical settings. That experience now helps me guide PBW families through the insurance process with clarity and confidence.

As PBW’s Insurance Specialist, I verify every child’s benefits before therapy begins, review deductibles and authorizations, and meet with each family one on one to make sure everything feels clear and manageable. I believe parents should never feel confused or overwhelmed when it comes to insurance. My goal is to make each step feel understandable, predictable, and supportive.

One of the things I love most about PBW is that I finally get to connect directly with the families I am helping. Instead of working behind the scenes on claims for people I never met, I now get to build relationships, meet our kids, answer questions in real time, and make sure the financial side of therapy never becomes a barrier.

I am grateful to be part of a team that values transparency, communication, and truly family-centered care. I look forward to supporting your family and helping make the insurance process as smooth as possible.
